“Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ” 1 Thessalonians 5.18
The Lightwave Annual General Meeting has become known as “The Thankyou Gathering”. At it, we thank many amazing people who offer their time, talents and funds for the sake of God’s Kingdom. This picture shows Graham Miles and Linda Preston who give so much to he Lightwave Agricultural Chaplaincy being thanked by Archdeacon Sally Gaze. Even more importantly, we thank God.
Thanking God is important. It puts our lives and our ministries back into perspective. It reminds us that everything comes from him – and when tough times come, it reminds us that He has seen us through tough times before. Gratitude shifts or focus from scarcity to abundance, from problems to possibilities. No wonder that scientific studies show a strong association between gratitude and mental wellbeing. Giving thanks nurtures contentment and hope and so draws us closer to God and others.
Today, take time to reflect on three things you are thankful for.
Write them down, share them with someone and bring them before God in prayer.
Notice how this simple practice, changes your perspective
and blesses your day.
