"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word, I hope; my soul waits for the Lord, more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning." Psalm 130.5-6
This month, some of our Lightwave groups are using the Church of England "Living Hope" resources. We're learning that the biblical idea of hope is not calculated optimism based on circumstances but resting on the secure character of God who gives us a hope and a future.
As we look back at February, we're thanking God for:
The ministry of Bishop Martin over many years - we wish him well in his retirement. and we thank God for the care of Rt Rev's Graeme Knowles as our interim bishop.
Lots of fun events in small Lightwave groups - such as candle-making for Candlemas in Bredfield and making Valentines Truffles at Cook@Church in Metfield
Youth Alpha flourishing in our Hubs
Rev Graham Naylor appointed as Rector of the Bungay Benefice where there is a Lightwave Hub
A substantial grant to enable "Place by the Water" to offer free retreats to Suffolk Clergy for the next 3 years
Those who support the Lightwave Community in prayer and financially and by serving as Trustees or members of the sub-teams - finance, governance, safeguarding and Communications
In March, we'd love you to pray for:
The work of discernment through an Appreciative Inquiry process taking place throughout March to discover how best the Lightwave Community can contribute to and flourish within the wider diocese in the years ahead. (If you'd like to take part and you haven't had an invitation, please email lightwave.community@cofesuffolk.org
The appointment of an Operations Lead to support the new lead of Lightwave Diane Grano as she will take over the leadership of the community from Sally in the Autumn of this year.
Youth Alpha flourishing in our Hubs
Soul Choir as it begins with young people in Bungay. All the Lightwave hubs and small groups as they say keep a holy Lent and seek to bless their communities
