Associate Leader of the Lightwave Community 

Location: Red Lodge, Suffolk (with travel across the Diocese of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich)
Salary: £45,000 - £47,000 per annum
Contract: Full time, fixed term for 1.5 years (with the potential for extension)
Hours: 35 hours per week

The Lightwave Community is a pioneering Christian community within the Diocese of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich, with a vision to bring God's light and love to Suffolk through small missional groups and fresh expressions of church. We are passionate about growing disciples and supporting diverse communities through outreach and practical service.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Associate Leader to provide strategic guidance and leadership as Lightwave transitions towards sustainability. This exciting role will support the development of our charity, oversee financial sustainability, day to day operations, and play a key role in ensuring the long-term growth of the Lightwave and especially the Forest Heath Hub at Red Lodge, Suffolk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Share in the leadership of the Lightwave Community, contributing to its vision and strategic direction.
  • Serve as the Treasurer of the Lightwave Community, overseeing financial management, budgeting, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead the Governance team, managing HR, safeguarding, and operational responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the Lightwave fundraiser to secure grants and other funding sources.
  • Support the development of the Forest Heath Hub and contribute to building projects.
  • Build partnerships with other churches and community organisations across Suffolk.

Person Specification:

  • An experienced charity leader with a strong background in finance and operations.
  • Passionate about mission and church growth, with a proven track record in charity development and fundraising.
  • A committed Christian and regular worshipper in the Church of England (or a church in communion with it).
  • Skilled in strategic thinking, financial oversight, and building partnerships with external organisations.
  • Collaborative, innovative, and able to support the development of small missional groups.

Part-Time Bookkeeper (Lightwave Community)

Join the Lightwave Community CIO in our mission to bring positive change to Suffolk by shining God's light. We're a growing Christian organization committed to practical service, including combating isolation, youth work, and supporting rural communities.

Position:

  • Role: Part-time Bookkeeper (7 hours per week)
  • Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (pro-rata based on experience)
  • Location: Negotiable. Hybrid working, partly based at Red Lodge, Suffolk, with some travel across Suffolk to support other groups

This key role involves supporting our Treasurer and local groups with financial management, handling payments, reconciling accounts, and processing gift aid. You'll have the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, faith-driven team, ensuring the financial sustainability of a community making a real impact. You will be part of our team at Lightwave Red Lodge, but also supporting groups across Suffolk.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven bookkeeping and financial experience in a church or charity setting.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., ExpensePlus) and Microsoft Office.
  • A collaborative spirit, enthusiastic about supporting our mission.
